La Dimora del Castelluccio, Sicily

The ancient town of Castiglione di Sicilia.

The “Villa” on top of the historic village.

From the terrace of the Dimora, you have spectacular views to Mount Etna.

The yard is always open for guests (and a glass of wine).

Cosy and creative: The standard room.

Bright and spacious: The suite.

Brand new: The cave room.

Very special: The dining room.

The lounge for all guests.

The library, which is part of the Suite.

At La Dimora del Castelluccio guests discover Sicily from a very authentic angle: You practically live in this ancient Villa with a local host and enjoy a magical view to the famous volcano Mount Etna.

The very authentic Villa La Dimora del Castelluccio lies in the centre of the historical core of Castiglione di Sicilia, a small village with a population of 3,000, 60 kilometres north of Catania. The special thing about Castiglione di Sicilia is of course the proximity to the Etna volcano, which can be admired all day (and of course all evening) from the lovely terrace.

The owner of the Villa, Denise du Chêne de Vere has just recently converted the building into a very interesting Bed & Breakfast, which in the end is meant to be a kind of cultural centre. Two suites and one small room (the “cave room”) are ready to be occupied and because of the small number of rooms, host Denise can help her guests even more familiarize with this beautiful region.

The Rooms

Suite Nr. 1 is quite roomy. There’s a spacious bathroom including a separate bathtub and shower, your own walk-in-wardrobe and a large private terrace with an enchanting view to Mount Etna. The second suite is a “normal“ double room with en-suite bathroom of course and a balcony – also with a view, but to the historical town. And the third room is quite small, but very cozy and creative, with pink walls – even in the bathroom.

The Vicinity

For golfers: About ten minutes away is an 18-hole golf course, which is a must to have played at least once (if you’re a serious golfer). And the boss arranges guided tours of Mount Etna, wine-tasting in the best local vineyards and provides valuable tips in order to get to know this legendary region. By the way: Taormina, with its wonderful beaches is only 35 minutes away from the accommodation – so it’s well worth a days excursion to the ocean.

Ideal for

Visitors and fans of Sicily, who don’t want to lie on the beach all day, but would rather experience the real, authentic island. In the evening you can visit the old town and dine in typical Sicilian fashion – on request Denise can also organise a “private dinner“ in her establishment.

From 100 Euros for the cave room, 160 Euros for the Double Superior, 230 Euros for the Suite – including breakfast. Please note, that La Dimora del Castellucchio is open from March 5 2019.
