On a spontaneous visit to England’s capitol, we were lucky enough to discover a wonderful new sanctuary, that not only lies in the perfect location, but is also beautiful and comfortable – and warm and nice and…just perfect!
Let’s get straight down to the nitty-gritty, because you can book this recently opened place without having to rummage through boring descriptions. Because:
The Laslett has the perfect location, directly in Notting Hill Gate, three minutes walk from Portobello Road and five minutes to the new “In”-promenade, Westbourne Grove. (And it`s seven minutes to the most beautiful Paul Smith store in the world, located at 122 Kensington Park Road!).
The Laslett is cosy, beautiful, clean and full of really nice artworks.
The rooms are spacious (for London standards), and the guest is constantly confronted with fine, small details – for example a superb mini bar with two size variations of Veuve Clicquot champagne – at affordable prices.
The just 50 rooms are distributed between four victorian houses, the breakfast room is a small, snug bar and the library doesn’t contain standard “coffee table” decorations, but rather quality illustrated volumes that you actually want to look at.
Our bed was enormous, high quality and comfortable. Above the bed: nice works of art by Barbara Hulanicki and Barry Kamen.
