If you’re arriving in Berlin by train, get off at Eberswalder Straße station. It’s right in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, a residential neighborhood where the girls wear at least three scarves and the boys are often seen pushing strollers to the playground. This is Prenzlauer Berg and it is still the place to hang out.
Ask your friends where they live in Berlin, and chances are they’ll say, “just around the corner.”
Tucked away in this carefully preserved corner of glass-fronted luxury apartments is a charming place to stay. Bodo and Antonio created it out of a beautiful 19th-century Gründerzeit townhouse. The rooms are exactly what you’d imagine when you hear the phrase “Pretty Hotel”: stylish yet authentic, with parquet floors and a thoughtful mix of old and new.
However, it is important to know, that Linnen is a construction, a kind of flat for kindred spirits, travellers, instagramers, backpackers and art directors, who find the Soho House way too posh. It is also quite tiny.
The entrance and reception make up a part of the coffee bar, in which one takes their morning (or afternoon) coffee. Please note, that Linnen does not offer a full breakfast as there are so many nice coffee shops around the corner. But there is always a cookie and a coffee ready for you.
Ideal for
Every 20 to 65-year old, who want to experience Berlin unplugged, want to pay fair prices and want to live in an authentic neighbourhood.
Special
Linnen also has an apartment in the same building with two bedrooms and a huge kitchen, perfect for longer stays.
Small deductions
Linnen lies directly on a busy street, the rooms on the first floor are not really peaceful rooms.
Prices
Double room from about 130 euros excluding breakfast, but including all fees.
